Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by Alpha Arts to explain how we handle personal information collected through this website and our programs.

Last updated: July 28, 2026

1. Who We Are

Alpha Arts is an arts education organization established in 2019 with teams in Toronto, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. We are responsible for the personal information we collect through this website, our program applications, and our events.

2. Information We Collect

  • Information you give us: name, email address, phone number, school or institution, program of interest, portfolio or research materials, and anything else you include in an application, job application, or message to us.
  • Event information: registration details for the annual conference, mentorship classes, and networking events, and photographs or recordings taken at events where notice is given.
  • Technical information: basic information your browser sends when you visit, such as device type, browser, and pages viewed.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To review and respond to program, internship, co-op, and job applications.
  • To deliver mentorship classes, research programs, and conference participation.
  • To communicate with you about programs, deadlines, and events you asked about.
  • To improve our programs and understand how our website is used.
  • To meet legal, funding, and reporting obligations.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where necessary: with partner institutions and host organizations when you apply to a placement that involves them, with service providers who help us operate the website and communications, and where required by law. Partners receive only the information needed for that placement.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

This website uses your browser's local storage to remember that you have accepted our Terms and Conditions, so the notice is not shown on every visit. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.

6. Retention

We keep application and program records for as long as needed to run the program, support alumni and reference requests, and satisfy reporting obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized. If you would like your information removed sooner, contact us.

7. Students Under 18

Some programs are open to secondary school students. Where a participant is under the age of majority, we ask for parent or guardian consent before collecting information beyond what is needed to answer an initial enquiry.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to future communications. Email hello@alphaarts.co and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our programs evolve. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
